The Crib Stays Dry

     I currently have two family members expecting babies. My nephew and his fiance are expecting in September and my niece along with her fiance is expecting in October.  Now both of these are young couples just starting their families and being first time parents. This is my sisters' first grandchildren, she gets two really close together. Yay!!! So the opportunity to review this Margaux & May mattress protector came my way and I jumped at the chance.

     So I started by removing it from its plastic bag when I received it. Wow, it is soooooo soft, unlike many of the crib protectors I have seen and used in my past. The old mattress protectors had a rough texture that was in no way good for the baby should its fragile skin come in contact. This protector??? Oh, it feels just like terry cloth and is so very soft, it is made of quilted bamboo rayon fiber. I have never felt anything this soft in a mattress protector. It is quilted.

     Now, it is also waterproof, yet very breathable. The inside of the protector has a waterproof eco-friendly polyurethane layer that prevents spills, "accidents", drool, etc from penetrating through to the mattress. That will easily keep your mattress in tip top shape and free of stains. Everyone knows you need a great mattress protector with a baby or toddler. Bottles spill, diapers become too full, and don't forget the drool or spit up. But don't worry your mattress will be protected.

     The polyurethane layer also helps prevent the growth of bacteria, protects against bed bugs and helps to prevent mold growth on the mattress. All these things too very equal in importance. Bacteria can make the baby sick as well as the mold. The bed bugs carry their annoying symptoms as well. Now that's another thing a new mother does not have to worry about. :)

     The cover is safe to wash in cold water and dry on low heat. However, it does not recommend bleaching as it may break down the waterproof layer. The sheet is deep fitted and almost surrounds the total mattress, adding even more of a cleanliness level of protection. I am very impressed with the quality of this cover, as I mentioned before this is nothing like the covers I used when my children were small (sticky fibers or noisy/hot plastic). Yeah I'm that old. LOL The softness is just wonderful and could even be used without a sheet if you wish. I just hope the recipient (nephew or niece) will like it as well as I do. I am pretty certain they will.
